Weaving and Wandering Wefts:  Tapestry Class

All Day Class- Sunday May 21  9-4


​In this class students will learn how to weave a purse or wall hanging. The weaving process used in this class will involve a modern twist on the weaving techniques that have been around for over 7,000 years. Students will examine and use Navajo, Peruvian, African, Mexican, Turkish, Medieval, and other weaving techniques in new ways.

Students will learn
• warping and several finishing techniques
• Problem solving and the history of weaving will be taught along the way
• how to incorporate basic design elements and color
• twining, wrapping techniques, lazy line, slits, knotting stitches, and
interlocking methods
*Looms, supplies, and yarn will be provided. This is a great way to utilize those small bits of yarn you can’t part with. So bring some of your stash too! A “how-to booklet” and video included.
