Service Description
Learn basic Shibori techniques! Shibori is a resist dye technique that is created by clamping and/or stitching the fabric prior to dyeing. We will cover traditional clamping and stitch patterns. You will create a variety of Shibori samples utilizing both cotton and silk fabrics. We will utilize MX Fiber Reactive dyes for the dyeing portion. Skill Level: Beginner. Students should bring: (1) 2 cup liquid measuring cup, sewing needles, scissors, (1) 5 - gallon bucket, plastic bags to transport wet fabric, iron, (2) old bath towel, notebook, pen/pencil, N95 mask, and scissors. Materials Included: Cotton and silk fabric, dye - MX Fiber Reactive, salt, soda ash, printed instructions, rubber bands, twine, clamps, resists, measuring spoons, and mixing containers. Registration Fee and Materials Cost included.
Cancellation Policy
Each Workshop has a minimum and maximum number of students. If minimum is not reached two weeks before the scheduled event, the class is subject to cancellation. Once maximum is reached, the class will be closed and a waiting list will be generated. Further instructions for the workshop will be emailed to each student prior to the class. Workshop Refund Policy – no refunds within 5 days of event- except in cases of total event cancellation. 50% refund 15+ days prior to the event.
