Introduction to Tapestry

This half-day class will cover a variety of tapestry techniques - including warping a frame loom, color change, basic composition, fringe, ghiordes knots, sumac, and professional finishing. You will choose a weaving kit that includes a basic frame loom, yarn, tapestry needle and comb. Course material fee should be paid directly to the instructor prior to the beginning of the class. Students are welcome to bring additional yarn and/or materials to be incorporated in their tapestry, although enough yarn will be provided. Printed instructions will be given to each student along with access to videos for supplemental instruction. Each tapestry will be unique, using texture, color, and composition. All projects completed will be one-of-a-kind! Skill Level: Beginner. Materials: Scissors, notebook, pen or pencil, and additional yarn or materials if desired. Registration Fee and Materials Cost included. Materials Fee includes: Weaving kit - frame loom, various yarns and fiber, tapestry needle and comb.
Each Workshop has a minimum and maximum number of students. If minimum is not reached two weeks before the scheduled event, the class is subject to cancellation. Once maximum is reached, the class will be closed and a waiting list will be generated. Further instructions for the workshop will be emailed to each student prior to the class. Workshop Refund Policy – no refunds within 5 days of event- except in cases of total event cancellation. 50% refund 15+ days prior to the event.
