Service Description
The fundamentals of core spinning will introduce students to the basics of core spinning: how to choose the right core, what fibers to use, fiber prep, the different characteristics of core spun yarns and how they may be used in the world of fiber art. We will concentrate on hand work, treadle work and how to learn to gain control of your fiber while working with multiple movements of hands and feet. We will discuss tension, overspinning and fiber slippage as well. Though all levels are welcome, students should be comfortable in basic spinning and have some level of control over their drafting. Materials Included: 3 oz Combed Top, 3 oz Art Batt, 2 oz Fiber Cloud Students need to bring: A spinning wheel with a large orifice and 3 bobbins(an e-spinner is fine as well, though students should bring a battery pack as electrical is not always available.). Students may also bring a niddy noddy, though there will be a couple to share if they do not have their own and a lazy kate. $20 Non-refundable registration fee included in class cost.

Cancellation Policy
Each Workshop has a minimum and maximum number of students. If minimum is not reached two weeks before the scheduled event, the class is subject to cancellation and full price, including registration fee, will be refunded to the purchaser. Once maximum is reached, the class will be closed and a waiting list will be generated. Further instructions for the workshop will be emailed to each student prior to the class. Each class has a non-refundable $20 registration fee included in the cost. This fee can be transferred towards the cost of another class if purchaser cancels registration. Workshop Refund Policy – 75% refund minus $20 non-refundable registration fee 30+ days prior to the start of the festival workshops. 50% refund minus $20 non-refundable registration fee 14-29 days prior to the start of the festival workshops. No refunds within 13 days of event- except in cases of total event cancellation.
